50 Years after his hit Time Machine this could be another hit-single for Martin Griffiths. But of course we know this is not going to happen. Mainstream radio will continue to play Time Machine and not even mention that Martin is still active as a singer and musician. We love the track anyway.
lyrics
You get up early on a cold dark morning start dressing for the part
There’s an art in making an icon out of this boring old fart (but you look so smart)
You hear the bell and you know damn well (so well)
this life’s alarm will do you no harm
Getting’ out of bed (huge yawn) like a sack of lead
well I'm rarin’ to go …. it’s me (it’s him!) they know!
Make room, make room for the Old Buffoon
There’s a possibility that you can visit me soon
Make hay (make hay) … it’s a beautiful day (such a beautiful day)
Make way, make way, yes I'm here to stay
And if you're lucky (so lucky) … I'll just go away!
Old Buffoon
(there’s no need to leave the stage so soon)
I'm just the Old Buffoon (we love you; we need you)
Old Buffoon (if you stay, we’ll be over the moon)
I'm just the Old Buffoon
Make room, make room for the Old Buffoon
There’s a possibility that you can visit me soon
Make hay … it’s a beautiful day (such a beautiful day)
Make way, make way, yes I’m here to stay
And if you're lucky … I'll just fade away!
I remember the shake of your hand
I remember the things we had planned
All those memories just locked in the past
Is it just that our lives are too fast
Close your eyes, and I'll whisper to you
Let’s go back to that “Room with a View“
I’m home in the evening after a whole lot of scheming
I hope I've got the part (we hope you get the part)
It seems so fitting and oh so thrilling for this boring old fart (boring old fart)
The role is perfect; there’s no one better to take it to the very top
If I get too excited (go on, go on, go on!) or just plain delighted
Then please tell me to stop!
Make room, make room for the Old Buffoon (what a goon, such a loon, in the room)
There’s a possibility that you can visit me soon
Make hay (make hay) … it’s a beautiful day (such a beautiful day)
Make way, make way, yes I’m here to stay (come what may)
And if you're lucky! … I'll just fade away! (oh no, no, please don’t fade away!)
Old Buffoon
(there’s no need to leave the stage so soon)
I'm just the Old Buffoon (we love you; we need you)
Old Buffoon (if you stay, we’ll be over the moon)
I'm just the Old Buffoon

Poor Genetic Material are a symphonic prog band with their very own, unique style of complex, sophisticated, richly textured, yet, accessible compositions.
The most recent album from our side-project COARBEGH
featuring "Absence pt 3" and an ambient version of our classic track "Watercolours". Poor Genetic Material
Soothfully a phenomenal prog rock album—an instant classic. What motivates me to say so, is the music’s incredible expressiveness & its wonderfully cinematic song structures. Jargon is a very good fit with this band. It is quite evident that the band’s current lineup have great chemistry together & that they share a common affinity to this vein of music. I look forward to their next creation. Drifting Sun are definitely one of prog rock’s brightest lights. Thank you, DS!
